About Us

A Warm Welcome to Inverness Ice Centre...

Set in a prime location close to the banks of the River Ness and in the heart of Inverness's many sporting facilities next to the main Leisure Complex and adjacent to the Bught Playing fields which is host to many of the city’s outdoor activities including football, rugby and shinty.

The centre provides excellent facilities for enjoying Ice Sport all year round including a five rink ice arena for Curling, Ice Hockey and Ice Skating.

The rink originally opened its doors to the public in 1967 and over the years has seen many changes but in 2004 with assistance from Sportscotland's lottery funding the facility is now a registered charity and fully owned by its members. Last year saw the Ice Centre, secure funding of £685,000 and the rink re-opened its doors last October having benefited from a complete ice plant replacement, new ice pad and a new barrier system, bringing the facility right into the 21st century.  This year new ice skates have been purchased along with some additional skating aids for our youngest skaters! Our thanks to the Highland Curling Development Group for sponsoring the refurbishment of our curling stones ready for the start of the new curling season in September.

The centre is now host to a number of events throughout the year, May saw us welcoming for the first time 'Ultra White Collar Boxing’ a charity event raising funds for Cancer Research UK.  'Strictly Inverness' now in its 8th year which is  joint fundraiser for the Ice Centre and our partners at the Highland Hospice raised over £170K in 2017 and this October will see us host 'Loch Ness Knit Fest', a 3 day event where the ice centre will become a crafting village and marketplace.

With easy access by road and only 15 minutes’ walk into the town centre, many of the town's Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts are all within easy reach.
