About Us

A Warm Welcome to Inverness Ice Centre...

Set in a prime location close to the banks of the River Ness and in the heart of Inverness's many sporting facilities next to the main Leisure Complex and adjacent to the Bught Playing fields which is host to many of the city’s outdoor activities including football, rugby and shinty.  With easy access by road and only 15 minutes’ walk into the town centre, many of the town's Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts are all within easy reach.

The centre provides excellent facilities for enjoying Ice Sport all year round including a five rink ice arena for Curling, Ice Hockey and Ice Skating.

The rink originally opened its doors to the public in 1968 and this year will see the centre celebrate 50 years of Ice Sport!

Over the years there have been many changes but in 2004 with assistance from Sportscotland's lottery funding the facility is now a registered charity and fully owned by its members.  The Ice Centre, secured funding of £685,000 in 2016/17 and with a ice plant replacement, new ice pad and new barrier system it brings the facitlity right into the 21st century.  The end of March saw the facility continue with the second phase of our refurbishment plans and we are delighted with the refurbished car park and improvments for access to the main building.

We host a number of events throughout the year and 2018 saw us having a very busy May with the 'Highland Electric Vehicle Roadshow', 'Strictly Inverness' and for the third time  'Ultra White Collar Boxing'.  We are looking forward to welcoming Darell Paterson and his team from 'Ness Con' on 25th August for the first time!
